Getting around Claygate
Claygate has the feel of a village, with shops and cafés on The Parade, a village green and plenty of open space on Arbrook Common and Claygate Common. Many roads are quiet and residential, and some are narrow. Our drivers know the area and will find the easiest place to pick up and drop off.
Claygate station is on the line that runs through Surbiton to Waterloo in one direction and towards Guildford in the other. For many trips, especially with luggage or at night, a car is still the better option.
Quick access to the A3 and M25
Claygate is close to the A3, which leads to the M25 at Junction 10 near Wisley. That makes it a fast starting point for Heathrow, typically 25 to 35 minutes, and for Gatwick, typically 35 to 45 minutes via the M25 and M23. Claygate's rail line can be affected by engineering works, especially at weekends, when replacement buses may run instead of trains. If you have a train to catch in London or a flight to make, a taxi removes the uncertainty. We can take you straight to your London station or airport. Check the rail operator's website before you travel, and if there are works planned, call us for a fixed fare.
Local shops and services
Claygate has a good range of everyday shops on The Parade and nearby streets, but for larger supermarkets, hospitals and retail parks, residents usually travel to Esher, Kingston or Tolworth. We run these local trips at fixed fares, and the driver will help with shopping bags.
