Why parents book a taxi for the school run
Mornings in Chessington can be tight. The A243 Leatherhead Road and Hook Road get busy just as school traffic builds, and parking outside most school gates is limited or banned during drop-off. - We confirm the plan in writing by email, including the pickup time we will aim for each day.
- Change it when you need to. Let us know about inset days, clubs or holiday weeks and we adjust the bookings.
Because the fare is fixed, a slow morning on the A3 does not change what you pay. Our drivers leave enough time for the usual queue at the Hook junction and around Tolworth Broadway.
Child seats and safety
Child seats and boosters are provided on request. Please give us your child's age and rough weight when you book so we can bring the right seat, or let us know if you would rather supply your own. We ask that every child wears a seat belt for the whole trip.
Before the first run, we recommend you share any practical details the driver should know, such as which gate your child uses or who is allowed to collect them at home time. Sharing a school run with other families
Several families on the same road often share one car. A 6 seater taxi suits two or three families travelling to the same school, and a 7 seater taxi gives more room for bags, sports kit and musical instruments. Splitting the fare between families usually brings the cost per child down, and it means fewer cars queuing outside school.
If you want to share, tell us each pickup address and we will plan a sensible order. We keep the route short so nobody spends too long in the car before lessons begin.
