A major hub south of the river
London Bridge is one of the oldest stations in London and one of the busiest. Thameslink trains run through it to Brighton, Gatwick, Bedford and Cambridge. Southern and Southeastern trains serve Sussex and Kent. The station sits below The Shard, next to Borough Market and Guy's Hospital, and a short walk across the river from the City.

The route from Chessington
We usually drive up the A3 through Tolworth and Wandsworth, cross towards Vauxhall and continue past Kennington and Elephant & Castle to Borough High Street. Typically the journey takes 50 to 65 minutes outside rush hour. It is one of our longer station runs, so we plan pickups with a sensible margin.

Guy's Hospital is right next to the station, and St Thomas' Hospital is not far along the river. If you or a relative have an appointment, a taxi saves the stress of trains and walking. Tower Bridge, Borough Market and Southwark
London Bridge is a good base for sightseeing. Borough Market is beside the station, Southwark Cathedral is next to it, and a riverside walk takes you to Tower Bridge and, across the river, the Tower of London. If you are spending the day around the area, book a morning drop-off and an evening pickup. It is far easier than finding parking in central London, and you do not have to plan around train times.

London Bridge is busy from early morning until late at night.
